Drak Experience Week-End 25 - 26 Jan

The Drak Challenge, now in its 31st year and 30th iteration, (Covid19 put the brakes on the 2021 edition), has positioned itself as one of the top canoe events on the SA calendar, as the course follows the uniquely pristine Umzimkulu River. The river has its source in the nearby majestic Southern Drakensberg, and its depth and flow is dependent on seasonal rains, which have been good this summer, so it looks like this year is going to be a memorable one.

The advent of the Drak Decent MTB two day event and the Run the Rivers trail runs of recent times, has seen this event morph in to the Drak Experience, taking place this coming weekend. At any given time on Saturday and Sunday, the mountains and rivers will be teeming with paddlers, pedalers, pedestrians and their people, all soaking up the vibrant atmosphere of sporting excellence, fun, food and of course, music. With top local and SA musicians lined up to play at the Olde Duck Restaurant and the Underberg Country Club, the hills will certainly be alive with aching muscles and good vibes! A great opportunity for some family fun, relaxation and of course the war stories once the dust has settled!….see you there!
